A dinastía dos Kainuku é unha das dúas liñas de ariki - xunto coa Pa Ariki - da (vaka) de Takitumu na illa de Rarotonga (Illas Cook).
Historia tradicional
[editar | editar a fonte]Segundo a tradición oral, os devanceiros dos Kainuku vivían na illa no tempo da chegada de Tangiia[1]. O centro da xefatura é o koutu Orotuma no tapere de Avana e a investigura ten lugar no marae de Vaerota. O titular actual do título, é desde 2006 Kainuku Kapiriterangi Ariki.

- Kainuku Tamoko Ariki, tamén coñecido como Kainuku Paora era o ariki en 1823 cando pasou pola illa o misioneiro John Williams[2].
- Kainuku Nia Ariki, fillo de Kainuku Tamoko[3][4]
- Kainuku Toeta Ariki, coñecido tamén co nome cristián de Charlie Kainuku, é o irmán máis novo de Kainuku Nia e fillo de Kainuku Tamoko
- Kainuku Pekarau Ariki ou Kainuku Peka, fillo de Kainuku Toeta.[5][6]
- Kainuku Parapu Ariki, fillo de Kainuku Pekarau. Casou con Teputuki Tamarua, e tiveron 13 nenos : Vaikai (m) ; Nuka (f); Toeta (m) ; Ita Tamariki (m) ; Putua (m); Teamanu (m); Tamaiti (m); Timi (m); Tekura (f); Teupoko Etetera (f); Ben (m); Arona Teuira (m); Manatu (m)[7]
- Kainuku Vaikai Tamoko Ariki, nado o 2 de novembro de 1885, fillo de Kainuku Parapu. Casou con Piupiu te Wherowhero, da familia real maorí
- Kainuku Charles Tau Cowan Ariki, fillo de Nuka Kainuku e Charlie Cowan, sucedeu a seu tío. Casou con Makea Nui Tapumanoanoa Teremoana Ariki[8]
- Kainuku Mata Tekura Tau ka Pa Nia Ariki, morta en 2004[9].
- Kainuku Kapiriterangi Ariki investida o 6 de maio de 2006.
